PHACON Orthognathics Assistant

The PHACON Orthognathics Assistant has been developed for realistic, hands-on training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. In combination with the replaceable PHACON Orthognathics Patient “Martin”, the system enables surgeons to practice surgical approaches, osteotomy techniques and procedural steps under anatomically realistic conditions.

The training system is particularly suitable for orthognathic surgery education, surgical demonstrations, workshops and hands-on training courses.

Applications

The PHACON Orthognathics Assistant can be used for training and demonstration of procedures including:

• Le Fort I osteotomy – surgical approach and osteotomy of the maxilla
• Bilateral Sagittal Split Osteotomy (BSSO) – bilateral sagittal split osteotomy of the mandible
• Genioplasty – osteotomy and surgical techniques involving the chin
• Various maxillary and mandibular osteotomy techniques
• Surgical approaches and anatomical orientation
• Drilling, sawing and bone preparation techniques
• Planning and demonstration of typical procedural steps in orthognathic surgery

The anatomically realistic design provides a valuable training environment for developing and refining surgical techniques before performing procedures in the clinical setting.

Scope of Delivery

The following components are included with the PHACON Orthognathics Assistant to provide a complete setup for realistic surgical training:

• 1 PHACON head model
• 1 fixation clamp for secure positioning of the head model
• 1 [OT-aa] PHACON Orthognathics Patient “Martin”
• 1 transport case for the trainer

The patient model is replaceable, while the head model and fixation system are designed for repeated use. This makes the PHACON Orthognathics Assistant particularly suitable for recurring training sessions, workshops and surgical education programs.
